abstract: Duodji is fluid and it fits to most of museum categories, it can be art, it can be historical object, it can be ethnography. Concurrently duodji surpasses the categories and classifications used in museum. Museum and its tools do not recognize duodji as it is understood by the Sámi, as a holistic entity that combines immaterial and material cultural heritage, resources and aesthetics with traditions, skills and technologies. Duodji is an opportunity for the museum to critically examine its policies and practices and their implications to the source societies. Is there room in the museum for more than one world?
