The Sámipolity project organized a duodji workshop in Inari in November 2024.
In the workshop, we made inner workings under the guidance of the Sámi duojár Hilma Länsman. Through the inner workings, we aim to analyze what kind of political thinking is involved in acquiring the materials needed for duodji, making duodji and its communal sharing or indivisibility. In the workshop, we use an autoethnographic method, meaning that through making duodji, we reflect on our own relationship to inner workings and duodji while sewing.

Prior to the workshop Professor Emeritus Tim Ingold repatriated his ethnographic field notes to the Skolt Sámi community in Sevettijärvi on 13.5.2024.
